A 3.5-mile extension of the KC Streetcar, adding 16 stops and extending the line from its original southern terminus at Union Station to 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard on the UMKC campus. Planning began in April 2017; construction broke ground April 6, 2022; the line opened to public passenger service on October 24, 2025 - on time and under budget.

1% sales tax within 1/3 mile of the line + property special assessment, both through 2045 Collecting

Total project cost is consistently reported at $352M across sources, but the federal/local split is described two different ways in public reporting ($200M/$152M vs. a separately reported $174M 2021 FTA grant). Scope's own rule is to show that kind of gap rather than pick one figure and smooth it over - this would be a flagged follow-up item for the pilot corridor's editorial review.

Disclosure Status

Collecting as scheduled - the TDD sales tax and special assessment are both in active collection through 2045 per public reporting. This preview has not independently pulled the TDD's own continuing-disclosure filings (e.g. EMMA); that would be a standard editorial step before this project's status could be called fully verified in a live registry.

Litigation & Legal Filings

No litigation found in public reporting as of this preview. Recorded here as an explicit absence, not left blank - a live Scope entry would show "No litigation on record" the same way a missing required study is shown as a fact rather than omitted.

Years of construction were rough for Main Street businesses, but the Plaza stop is genuinely useful now that it's open.
