Whitestone REIT acquired the restaurant-anchored World Cup Plaza in Frisco, Texas (90,391 square feet, adjacent to Toyota Stadium's base-camp operation) as an explicit event-positioning bet. With Dallas-Fort Worth's nine World Cup matches now complete, the acquisition has become the cleanest single-asset test available of whether event-adjacent retail positioning actually holds commercial value once the event that justified the position has ended.
