Huntsville, AL Approves New TIF District. And a 1% Lodging Tax for the Von Braun Center
Huntsville approved the creation of a new tax increment financing district and, separately, a 1% lodging tax to support development of a new Von Braun Center, a two-instrument financing stack assembled for the city's event economy in a single legislative season.
Watch: The final boundaries of the new TIF district, and whether its geography overlaps with the area generating the lodging tax revenue, which would concentrate two different financing mechanisms on the same physical corridor.
