Honolulu's Waikiki Business Improvement District and the separately organized Waikiki Improvement Association announced they are moving to align the two organizations. The consolidation pattern Plat Street has tracked in Newark (Issue 1) and now Nashville (BO-P-1) reaching Hawaii's highest-profile visitor corridor. What "align" means in practice (shared staffing, merged governance, or a full legal consolidation) determines who ends up representing assessment payers once the dust settles.

Watch: Whether the alignment produces a single governance structure or remains a coordination arrangement between two distinct organizations, and what happens to board seats in either case.
